CWB Singles ONE-POINT Challenge – Rules
Introduction
The CWB Singles ONE-POINT Challenge is run in conjunction with The Clearwater Bay Champions Cup 2025, featuring top ATP players from around the world. This is your chance not only to come to the club to watch some top class doubles action, but at the same time put your tennis skills to the test in an exciting and tense ONE POINT shootout for a chance to win the Grand Prize of HK$20,000.
Date & Venue
Saturday December 13th 2025: Preliminary rounds at the Outdoor Tennis Courts (Synthetic Grass)
Sunday December 14th 2025: Last 16 qualifiers onwards at both outdoors (Synthetic Grass) & Indoor Court 6 (Rebound Ace) with Eyes3 Technology.
Time
9am: 1st Round matches will start from 9am onwards.
1pm: A consolation event in the afternoon will be held for those players knocked out before the Quarter Finals.
Rules
- This is a knock-out event. If you lose before the Quarter Finals you may play again in the afternoon session to try to qualify for the final rounds on Sunday.
- Each match consists of ONLY ONE POINT! NO LET Rule!
- The event is open to all Genders and ages.
- Male players over 14 years of age only get 1 serve (no second serve). Female players and juniors 14 years and under get 2 serves (if they miss their 1st serve they get a 2nd serve)
- An official will be on each court. They will officiate the coin toss which allows the player winning the toss to choose to serve or receive or choose the end to play on.
- The players will get a 3-minute warm up, followed by the ONE-POINT (Effectively Sudden Death) point to decide the match.
- The 2 players are to call their own side of the court as per normal un-officiated matches. However, if there is a dispute, the official on the court will make a decision which is final.
- The draw size is 128. If more than 128 entries are received then priority will go to Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club members (capped at 100 places), followed by a first-come first-serve basis for nonmembers.
Entry Fee
$200 – This fee includes entry to the event, entry into the club to watch the Clearwater Bay Champions Cup 2025, 2 complimentary ATP tickets to the HK Open ATP 250 event in late December 2025, a HEAD sponsored tennis souvenir and HK$20,000 for the eventual champion. The full entry fee will go to The Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club Charitable Foundation. No refunds are accepted once your place has been confirmed.
Wet Weather
In case the first day is rained off, the One-Point Challenge will be moved to the following day, Sunday December 14th commencing at 9am.
In case both Saturday and Sunday is washed out completely, the event will be rescheduled to January 2026. (actual date TBC. Those unable to attend the rescheduled date will receive a refund)
